Lottery for local governments to receive stimulus funds

NEWS ALERT: After receiving authority to issue $39 million in bonds from the federal stimulus program, Lake County will hold a lottery to allocate up to $3 million to local municipalities.

Why this news is important to you: The luck of the draw will determine which communities will have an opportunity to boost their economy with stimulus funding - not necessarily the ones that need economic stimulus funding the most.
